As our Business Development Manager, you win new business across the UK. Rail is one of our biggest opportunities for the year ahead and will take a large share of your time. You are free to sell wherever the best opportunities are, including construction and defence, and you own the sales cycle from first conversation to closed deal.
This is a fully remote role with plenty of time on the road, visiting customers across the UK.
Become part of our success story by...
Driving new business: Identify, target and secure new opportunities across the UK, with a strong focus on rail
Closing high-value deals: Negotiate and win six-figure orders with key decision-makers and influencers
Building a portfolio: Grow a portfolio of high-value customers, using your industry knowledge and market trends
Executing sales strategy: Adapt strategy to your market for sustainable revenue growth and long-term customer relationships
Managing your pipeline: Build a robust pipeline, forecast accurately and adjust your approach to improve results. Your performance is measured on units sold and margin
Influencing the market: Become a trusted voice in rail, construction & energy sectors by attending events and staying ahead of trends
Collaborating and reporting: Share market insight, customer feedback and sales performance with colleagues in the UK and Germany
What you bring
A proven record of winning new business and exceeding targets, including negotiating and closing six-figure deals
A strong technical understanding that lets you explain the value of our products with confidence
Commercial awareness: you are comfortable discussing margin, cost of goods sold and P&L
Accurate, disciplined forecasting
Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
Willingness to travel extensively across the UK, and occasionally abroad, for example for onboarding in Germany
Flexibility around working hours when customers and the business need it
The drive and self-discipline to work fully remotely
Fluent written and spoken English, and the right to work in the UK
Ideally, you also have experience in the rail sector, technical sales, electrical engineering or electrical components, working directly for a manufacturer, or working in a start-up or scale-up.
A dynamic environment in a fast-growing company with a very flat hierarchy
The opportunity to join a company at the cutting edge of its field
Fully remote working across the UK, with onboarding in Germany
A laptop and a mobile phone
30 days’ paid holiday, plus 5 days’ special leave and public holidays
