POSITION SUMMARY:

As our first U.S. Field Engineer, your role is key to our customer and market success there. You will be the main point of contact for our large B2B customers in this area, making sure to understand their challenges and needs, while providing value to them and improving their work with our products and services. You will help our team understand what we need to do to increase their usefulness and productivity with our products and services.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will be responsible for identifying customer needs, responding to their requests, and assisting with delivery and operation. You will work with our team for assembly, service, and repair to ensure you know the product as well as anyone on the team. You will inspire yourself and our customers with our sustainable energy concepts.


As a brand ambassador with enormous influence on our company's growth, you will:

  • Stay with Engineering and Service teams in Ludwigsburg, Germany for 2-3 weeks with return trips to be scheduled to learn Instagrid technology and product use.
  • Act as the technical contact for the U.S. organization (e.g., Sales, Engineering, Service, Logistics…) to support on all technical product matters.
  • Work with customers in the field to understand their applications and needs, then feedback requirements, findings and new ideas to the product team.
  • Work with the Product and Assembly teams to ensure your knowledge gained will contribute to the product development.
  • Work with early U.S. customers to help them experience a perfect product fit for their applications (e.g., taking an instrument to measure load and adapt e-fuse accordingly);
  • Support operations team in finding the right service partner(s) and train them; and
  • Be the go-to person for applicable U.S. specific requirements, standards, safety, and other regulations.

Job requirements

  • You have a successfully completed a degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field and bring 3+ years of professional experience in a relevant field for similar devices and systems.
  • You have a broad understanding of the interaction between software and hardware in systems.
  • You work with a combination of understanding and urgency and are characterized by a communicative approach to work.
  • Travel estimate is 30-40% of time.
  • Office is based in Latham, New York
