POSITION SUMMARY:  **This position requires an on-site presence in Latham, NY**

As a U.S. Service Engineer/Technician, your role is key to our customer and market success there. You will support our new developments in the commercialization and industrialization phase, and help the team make them ready for use in the field. You will work with the Ludwigsburg, Germany service team for training and education for the U.S. service and repair team.

It is easy for you to develop a deep understanding of how electronic assemblies and devices work based on circuit diagrams, assembly drawings and software documentation. You are proficient in linking this knowledge with the results of error pattern analyses of defective devices and thus identifying clear failure root causes. You develop clearly structured processes for fault diagnosis and repair and by accompanying the products in the first months on the market, you ensure that these processes can also be implemented in practice.

You will inspire yourself and our customers with our sustainable energy concepts. As a product and solution ambassador for service and repair, your efforts will impact our company's growth.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• You will develop and implement methods for fault diagnosis and troubleshooting.
• Identify failure root causes, as well as their frequency, and thus provide valuable market feedback to the organization.
• Multiply your built-up expert knowledge and pass it on to our highly motivated service technicians by developing technical service concepts that serve them as a basis for fault diagnosis and repair both in-house and in the field.
• Training and education in Germany on the operation of the Instagrid products.
• Work closely together with the HQ (Ludwigsburg) team to develop the analysis and repair concepts for Instagrid products.
• Act as a contact person for outsourcing projects and the support of our external service partners.

• You have successfully completed a degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar field and bring 3+ years of professional experience in a relevant technical field such as information technician, communications technician, electronics technician for devices and systems or a similar area.
• You have a good understanding of the interaction between software and hardware in systems.
  
• You are proficient in handling measurement devices and in-device diagnostic interfaces.
• You work independently and are characterized by a structured approach to work.
• Limited travel on an as-needed basis.
• Our office is based in Latham, New York.
